In tropical countries, practically all year.

Habitat

It is found in ponds and streams, both with permanent and temporary water, lakes.

The species is reported in southern Texas, Mexico, Central America.

Description

Dimensions: body 47-56 mm;
                   rear wing 35-44 mm.
                   abdomen 33-39 mm.

Maschi : "Face" red with purple eyes, chest light violet and red orange abdomen.

Transparent front and back wings with dark veins.

Female : Brown in color, with a white line at the top of the chest.
